Fish from India

India has a number of very large river systems that run from the Himalayas to the sea: the Indus, Ganges, and Brahmaputra. Like much of Asia, there are numerous micro-habitats: from fast flowing rivers, home to Danios and other current-loving species, to still marshes, thick with vegetation - home of slow moving fish such as Gouramis. Examine the list of some of the widely seen Indian aquarium species below.

Fishkeeping Facts and Tips

Too many fish? Overstocked tanks stress the fish in many ways: competition for food and space, bullying from other fish, deterioration of water quality and increased concentration of disease vectors. A lightly stocked tank will always be easier to care for, with more stable water quality
