AQUARIUM CARE: The red-tailed or red-eyed puffer fish is a freshwater species from the island of Sumatra, that is probably best kept in a species tank. Individuals may be peaceful, yet can also be very aggressive, attacking tank mates. They are generally nocturnal feeders, coming out when the lights go off. Consider feeding at this time. Like all puffers, they like meaty shellfish, shrimps, mussel, etc, preferably with some hard shelled content such as live snails.
